Your relationship with your home

Your home, on an energy level, always has a story to tell.  The great part about my work is that I get to hear those stories and then use what I’ve learned to help my clients change their homes and their lives.

I always start by tuning myself into the energy field of my client’s house and property before a feng shui consultation. I create a relationship with the place and learn what needs addressing. I start by calling for assistance from the devic, angelic and higher human realms. Then I call upon the deva of the house I work with. Other teachings call it the spirit of the house.

I have found that it is very important to lovingly connect to the deva of each home and to use the specific information the deva gives me, in addition to applying the rules of feng shui.  This way the client and I receive more accurate guidance from nature’s higher intelligence. I ask it: “How are you doing at this point in time?” The answer comes to me in images, feelings or words.

A previous client in Montreal wanted more connection with family and friends when she asked me to do a feng shui consultation on her apartment. The deva of her space showed me there was a water issue from the neighbour and also instability in that neighbouring apartment. I thought: “Interesting! What does that have to do with my client?” Yet I listen and do not judge the answers.

At the client’s apartment, I asked about her neighbours. She said that major water damage had occurred months earlier in the next apartment and that since then many people had moved in and out of it.  She added that she had not met her latest neighbour.

Although this was not happening in her apartment, it was still affecting her. The common wall that she shared with that neighbour felt oppressive. So she had placed several objects against the wall to protect herself from that energy. As this made her space look heavy and smaller, we replaced those objects with an image of helpful friends, one of positive flowing water for abundance and several photos of her family on that wall.

As a result she noticed a marked improvement in her relationships with everyone.  She invited her neighbour for tea and formed a friendship with her. She also started having little dinner parties as she began feeling more sociable and happier in her home.  Lastly she became closer again with her family, something she had really been missing.

A recent client from Red Deer did not like her house. She felt unmotivated and restless. Communication with her husband and children was also an issue. Her daughter was talking about puppies she kept seeing. When I connected to the deva of the house, I received images of an energetic being that was uptight, sad and frustrated. It wanted to be left alone.

My client knew that the previous owners were very private, had a lot of dogs and ran a child daycare from the home. As the deva of this space had never been addressed, the home was still carrying a program of: “Leave me alone.” Whatever feelings and thoughts were felt by the previous owners of the house and the resulting structural changes they made to the house, now influenced my clients.

Within a space clearing ceremony we released the deva’s program, smudged with frankincense and used chanting to release the sadness, fears and agitations. In the feng shui consultation I also suggested changes such as moving their aquarium (water) from the center (earth) of the house to the north area and to remove a barrier which would allow the kitchen window to let in more sunlight, thereby supporting the energetic clearing.

Now my client feels better in her home.  She has noticed that it feels calmer and now she even likes the house! The changes that were made improved both the happiness and the communication of her family which she was most grateful for.
