Build Your Home With Feng Shui in Mind

If you’re building a new home, congratulations! Taking Feng Shui into mind when you work with an architect to create your floor plans can save time and money, since you know you’ll be moving into a home with good Feng Shui, rather than spending money on renovations after the fact.

Here are three considerations regarding land selection and home placement:

1. Visualize your dream home and neighborhood.

How will you know you’ve found what you want if you don’t know what you want? By visualizing our desires, we set the energy of the Universe in motion to begin attracting it. If we don’t have a clear vision, we may settle for something that isn’t going to help us live our best life. That applies to everything from a job, to a partner, to a new home or plot of land.

2. Choose your location wisely.

In addition to looking at the practical considerations of school district, proximity to work and shopping, and taxes in the area, consider the overall chi of the neighborhood. Are the surrounding houses full of life and positive energy? Do plants and foliage, as well as animals, look healthy and alive? Avoid purchasing a plot of land at the head of a t-intersection, as this sends fast rushing chi your way. If you’re in a more rural area, consider geography such as mountains and moving water.

3. Place the home in the middle third of the plot of land.

When the construction crews begin to prepare the land and break ground, plan to place your new home in the middle third of the plot. If you can’t place it here, placing it in the rear-third is better than in the front-third.
